Bio

Tasty Clips/Poli-Sigh! Creator William Vaughan began his career in media as a programmer at Viacom in New York. He moved on to the USA Cable Network before starting a business as an editorial consultant. During this period, he was responsible for revamping Entertainment News Magazine and conceptualizing the award-winning debut of ARTZ Magazine.

William Vaughan expanded his services to include Public Relations after working on the Magnum P.I. syndication launch and the BASELINE 5th Anniversary Party in Beverly Hills, CA.  Previous projects in New York  included The New York Urban League's Whitney M. Young Jr. Memorial Football Classic, The Marlboro Music Festival and Talent Roundup, The International African Arts Festival, The JVC Jazz Festival, The Choose Life Benefit for AIDS, JAZZCARES Benefit for Breast Cancer Research, and more.

After a stint overseas writing for Paris-based publications 5 Majeur (the top NBA magazine in France) and Louna (a lifestyles magazine), Mr. Vaughan relocated to Atlanta. There he served as Director of Public Relations for The National Black Arts Festival; represented two-time American Book Award winner Michele Wood; and facilitated media for LAFFAPALOOZA! America's Urban International Comedy Arts Festival (1998-2000); and
Club Benson & Hedges (1996-99)
, a national ten-city music program.

In South Carolina (his birth home), he volunteered his assistance in coordinating broadcast media relations for King Day at the Dome, a rally for the removal of the Confederate flag from the Columbia, S.C. Statehouse that attracted over 46,000 people and a host of national and international reporters.

Mr. Vaughan was one of the publicists on The Original Crown Royal Kings of Comedy Tour including a date at the Georgia Dome that drew the largest comedy audience ever.

He also worked on campaigns for Georgia Perimeter College, the Soul Beach Music Festival, Legendary DJs @ The Winter Music Conference, the South Eastern Coalition of Urban Retailers, The ReFashion Network, the inaugural State of the Black World Conference, The Crown Royal Lyricist Lounge Tour, The Irie Music Festival, and the South Carolina African-American/International Film Festival.

Bill Vaughan's Tasty Clips/Poli-Sigh! was born in 2002.  The tip sheet started as a favor for friends in the media and has since grown to become one of the nation's hottest informational sources.  Today, the column may be read in the Los Angeles Herald Dispatch, the Columbus Post; heard on the radio airwaves in Atlanta and Toronto; on TV via CNN Headline News and over the internet.  Celebrities as varied as Dionne Warwick, Mary J. BligeDavid Sanborn, Kim Fields, Ron Isley, Al Jarreau and Sheryl Swoopes have all benefited from exposure in the column which now reaches over 500,000 readers monthly.
